Whitney Houston Documentary Coming Soon

One of the most successful singers of all-time, who died in 2012 and has sold over 200 million records over the course of her career, may be getting a documentary. The documentary will be centred on Whitney Houston’s rise and fall, exploring her troubled marriage to Bobby Brown and her addiction to drugs. The film will be shot in Los Angeles and include behind-the-scenes material, candid interviews with key people in Houston’s life along with Houston’s greatest hits to “offer a raw and uncensored look at Houston and explore the impact her life and death had on the people around her and on the world of music,” according to Showtime.

British documentary filmmaker Nicki Broomfield is happy to direct the documentary without the families consent. Broomfield is behind the 1998 documentary ‘Kurt & Courtney’ which made headlines, alleging that Courtney Love played a role in Kurt Cobain’s death. He also directed the documentaries ‘Biggie & Tupac and Tales of the Grim Sleeper.’

The documentary is set to be released next year.
