Jade Matthews Catches Up With KStewart

Always one to lift the lid on fresh UK talent, Jade Matthews will be sitting down with singer songwriter, KStewart!

Having kickstarted her solo career as a live vocalist for Bondax, KStewart has garnered a global fanbase after spending two years performing around the world at different clubs and festivals. A studio session with Karma Kid would give the young star the music break she needed, with the pair producing the stand-out tracks 'Tell Me About That', 'Speechless' and 'Close Enough' which would see her herald as one to watch.

Since then her sound continued to mature to invoke towering toplines and nuanced contemporary production on the uplifting 'Keeping You Up' and 'Ain't Nobody', while 'Be Without You' finger clicked its way through club-sized drums and wall-rattling bass, all the backdrop to Kate's sweet harmonies.

Along the way, she’s simultaneously earned a reputation as a sought-after collaborator. Her biggest chart hit came when she provided the topline for Oliver Heldens’ smash ‘Last All Night (Koala)’ which catapulted into the charts at #5 and bagged the Hottest Record in the World. In 2016, she teamed up with the legendary Sean Paul as the pair both featured on hot Norwegian producer Matoma’s track ‘Paradise’ – a track which passed 22 million streams at Spotify within a year of its release. Other influential artists such as David Guetta, Diplo, Skrillex and Craig David have also emerged as fans.

Hailed as this generation's answer to Mariah Carey by i-D, Kate cites classic divas as her main influence – artists who possess the vocal gift to complement their independent spirit.

After amassing 2.3 million Spotify streams of her previous single ‘Hands’ (featuring Yungen), KStewart can now share the follow-up track ‘Sex 4 Breakfast’.

Switching between sassy verses and an insistent hook, Kate’s sultry vocal stands astride a slick modern pop production courtesy of Banx & Ranx. ‘Sex 4 Breakfast’ blends punchy synths, 80s-inspired funk-bass and a whistle which almost subliminally echoes the main melody. Kate co-wrote ‘Sex  4 Breakfast’ with Banx & Ranx, David Stewart, Ayak Thiik (Little Mix, The Vamps) and Adam Baptiste (Katy Perry).
