Idris Elba Training To Be A Boxer For New Documentary

Is there anything that Idris Elba can't do?!

Not content with just acting, directing, producing and djing, Idris is set to delve into the world of sport, embarking on a professional boxing career!

The 'Luther' star has been travelling the world for 12 months, stopping off at Cuba, Japan, South Africa and Thailand filming the challanging preparation for his debut fight in London - all captured for his new documentary series on Discovery entitled 'Idris Elba: Fighter'.

News first surfaced around the 44-year-old's new career venture in October 2016 when he was pictured winning a fight at the iconic York Hall in Bethnal Green, London with pop singer Madonna watching on in the audience.

Idris' new documentary series, which is set to premiere on Discovery on January 17th, will follow the star's journey and training up until that fight.

Speaking on his decision to enter the world of professional kickboxing, Elba said: "The first thing most people say when I tell them I’m doing this is what about your face? What about your acting? The truth is people will go ‘why is he doing it?’ I get it. I would say the same. I just believe anyone can do anything. Acting aside I will break my nose for this fight. I will go for it. It’s about heart. It really is about heart. What I’m trying to achieve, I’ve got to attack it like a pro fighter. Otherwise it’s just like a hobby."

Can't wait to see this one!
