Afrobeats take over Lauryn Hill’s Diaspora Calling!

Over the weekend, the renowned Ms. Lauryn Hill put together a charity festival called Diaspora Calling at the Kings Theatre in Brooklyn, New York. The aim of these events were to focus on various forms of visual art celebrating African Diaspora. This 3-day event was actually put together overnight with a private gallery which was opened to the public on Thursday 14th & Friday 15th of April.

This festival held a sold out concert and had many performances which showcased some of Africa & the Caribbean’s’ biggest music artists & DJ’S. This includes some of the biggest names in Afrobeats such as Mr Eazi, Stonebwoy, E.L & Wandaboy, DJ Spinall & DJ Julz representing Ghana & Nigeria. Performing alongside one of the biggest bands in the UK at the moment, The Compozers, where she had requested for them to play at her show!
